Village is blessed by its rich religious and cultural heritage. There exists a 350 years old chapel of St. Anne in Olaulim. Candeia Church in Palmar is the best example of Portuguese architecture. The feast of our lady of Candeia is celebrated on 2nd of February every year. The Shree Ram Panchayatan Mandir at Pomburpa and Shrikrishna temple in Ecoxim has glorious memories of past. Shree Ram Panchayatan temple is the oldest temple founded in 1860 and celebrates Ram Navami festival every year on occasion of birth of Lord Rama.
The two communidades, communidade of Olaulim and Communidade of Pomburpa controlled and contributed for the development of village before independence and continued to do so in the recent past with the grand returns from cashew laden hills, the fields, sluice gates. Agriculture and fishing remains the main occupation of the people. The point at which the sluice gate now lies at Muddi was once a trading point.
